Pinot Noir is a grape which has found in New Zealand a home away from home. Intense, elegant and fruit-driven in style, Pinot Noir is an extremely food friendly wine which may exhibit an array of vibrant flavours including red fruit, plum, cherry, currant, often with notes of clove and spice.

Wine Enthusiast Review: This is a polished, appealing Pinot that opens with lifted aromas of licorice, savory herbs and violets amidst plump plum and berry fruit. The medium-bodied palate threaded gently with savory tannins.

Tasting Notes: 

An aromatic Pinot Noir with a lively personality, this wine expresses strawberries, raspberries and red cherries on the nose, the hallmarks of a classic Marlborough Pinot Noir. The ruby colour in the glass suggests juicy summer red fruits on the palate, intermingled with flavours of freshly roasted coffee beans and dark cocoa. Silky soft tannins and a hint of dried herbs linger on the finish.

Smoked salmon or a mature cheddar cheese.

The Private Bin Pinot Noir is a blend from specially chosen vineyards in the Awatere and Wairau Valleys. The varying soil types, meso-climates offer different tannin structures, flavours and aromas to the wine.
