The pedigree of this Cabernet Franc reflects the unique terroir of our Chiles Valley – Napa Valley estate vineyard.  Cabernet Franc has long been used as a blending grape in Bordeaux and Napa Valley, adding finesse and perfumed aromas to the more muscular Cabernet Sauvignon.  

A parent grape to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc has a lighter body but maintains the intense, dark fruit notes synonymous with Cabernet Sauvignon.  We have just under 6 acres of Cabernet Franc in our estate vineyard, divided into 3 distinct blocks.

Our 2015 Cabernet Franc accentuates the wonderful dark fruit and spice characteristics that are naturally present in Cabernet Franc grapes. Both the nose and palate display an intense aromatic profile of warm nutmeg and ripe raspberry aromas elegantly supported by hints of spice, toasty oak and an opulent texture with a persistent silky finish that keeps you wanting more. This wine has tightly structured tannins that will reward longer periods of aging.

FOOD PAIRING NOTES Very versatile with many food groups, from a nice tomato-based pasta dish to a wonderful filet mignon. 

Wine Enthusiast Magazine Review Notes: This has small amounts of Merlot, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon blended in, the whole offering a soft integrated taste of blackberry, cherry and cassis. Lingering seasonings of clove and leather add to the complex experience - Virginie Boone.
